The Lupercalia Event - February 14th
Let the word go forth across the Kingdom of Artemisia that the Shire of Stonegate calls you to gather for a day of wild revelry, romantic noble challenge, and lyrical contest!
In the frost of February, when the earth lies quiet beneath winter’s cloak, we shall kindle the ancient fires of Lupercalia and awaken the stirring spirit of the festival. Here, warriors and poets alike will take the field… Some armed with sword and shield, others with wit and verse, but all will partake in the sacred rituals of the heart.
The tournaments of Lupercalia will test both valor and passion, where deeds of strength and words of beauty are weighed alike, and the fires of love and courage burn bright in the frost. The list will echo with the clash of arms as gallant warriors vie for the favor of the populace, each striving to embody the virtues of loyalty, courtesy, and courage. The hall will also ring with the music of voices, in bardic challenge, songs of love…or lust, oaths of fealty, and tales of deeds both bold and tender. Food will strengthen our bond, uniting hearts as it has through the ages. Our feast will celebrate love in all its forms…across time, culture, and passion.
Bring forth your banners to declare your household, your honor, or your devotion. Wear or bestow favors to proclaim where your heart lies and to inspire those who champion your cause. Let the sight be one of brilliant colors against the winter sky… bold as the hearts that bear them, and wild as the spirit of Lupercalia.

Do you think you have two left feet? Do you hide in the bathroom when the dancing starts at an event? Let me show you how dancing can be fun and accessible for all! Dance was a popular medieval pastime and knowledge of dances was considered a requirement for courtiers and nobles. Learning to move with grace, rhythm, and awareness of those around you can improve a fighter's skill in combat, and the addition of medieval music can make any event feel more "real." This class will teach basic steps and medieval dances to dancers of all skill levels and abilities, so you'll never have to leave someone standing alone asking for someone to dance with.
No partner is needed!
Her Excellency Ursula de Strattone will be teaching a class to go over some basic dances and then afterwards, all are invited to join in.
A grand rapier tournament devoted to those who inspire you.

The winner of the tournament will win the Tourney of Hearts buckler.
Flowers can be purchased on site. This will be a fundraiser for Stonegate's first 3-day camping event in May!
Grace the good populace of Artemisia with stories, song, dance, and performance as we dine upon a feast of love across time and cultures.
All performances are welcome, but ones themed around the various types of love will be favored.
The winner of the tournament will win a beautiful Roman statuette.
Prepare to test your might in the Lupercalia Heavy Combat Tournament, where warriors will clash in honor of their households, their inspirations, and the fiery spirit of the season.
The loser of a bout will have to give a flower to a gentle of the winner's choosing.
The champion shall claim the ultimate token of festive triumph, a pair of Orgy Horns.
